Professional Interests
Jasmine has always held a special passion for working with children with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder and has completed extensive research into these areas. She is a big advocate for understanding a child's sensory needs and helping them to have well-regulated sensory systems as the foundation for engagement in learning activities. Jasmine often works closely with preschools, schools and families to help them understand how children are processing the sensory world around them and providing strategies to help families overcome sensory challenges.
Creative Skills
Jasmine is an accomplished singer and pianist. She has completed Grade 5 Piano, Grade 7 Singing and Grade 4 Musicianship with the Australian Music Examination Board. Jasmine enjoyed teaching singing and piano to many students, over ten years while she was in high school and at university. She sings and plays regularly in her church band and enjoys writing her own songs. She loves all kinds of music and has also picked up the ukulele and guitar over the past few years.
Jasmine can turn anything into a song! You'll often hear her singing away in sessions, helping children remember new information with fun rhymes and silly songs. Jasmine loves everything creative and her kitchen table is always filled with glue, paint, cardboard and glitter as she makes creative masterpieces with her 3 children. Jasmine has always loved to paint and is especially fond of watercolour painting. OT with Jasmine can get messy as she incorporates lots of fun elements to help children learn through multi-sensory activities.
