Alicia Ferguson

Speech Pathologist

Qualifications and Experience 

Alicia graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours). Alicia completed a variety of rural and international clinical placements throughout her studies. She travelled to Fiji to complete her honors project on "The Need for Speech Pathologists in the Pacific Islands". 

Throughout university, Alicia worked as an Allied Health Assistant where she assisted children with varying abilities and diagnoses to engage in their everyday activities and implement therapeutic supports in their daily lives. She has assisted in running groups for children with Autism such as Art club, Lego and cooking groups. 

Professional Interests

Alicia takes great pleasure in offering personalised intervention tailored to the interests and strengths of her clients.  Alicia has been involved in the implementation of the Lidcombe and Oakville paediatric stuttering program as well as the Sounds Write program. She is very excited to continue learning and adding to her professional development. 

Creative Skills 

Alicia is a passionate musician who finds immense joy in utilising music for various purposes whether it's for self-expression, therapeutic intervention or simply sharing the joy of music.  

Alicia plays a variety of instruments including Piano, Saxophone and Clarinet. She has played the Saxophone for over 17 years!  

Alicia has travelled overseas and all over Australia for music, as well as participated in numerous Newcastle ensembles and productions.  

Alicia has taught music to primary school students for over 8 years. She enjoys performing with her students and sharing her passion for music.
