Hit two birds with one stone this Christmas and stock your kid's stockings with presents they will not only LOVE, but will assist their emotional and sensory regulation over the festive season.
It's the most wonderful time of the year, especially with young children who believe in the magic of Christmas. We LOVE experiencing the joy of Christmas through our clients' eyes and have collated a list of FREE festive family activities to help you get the most out of the holiday season.
At Inspire Ability we LOVE to sing! When you walk into our centre, you'll often hear our talented team singing in their office or incorporating music into our speech and occupational therapy sessions. Not only is singing a whole lot of fun, but it also has a huge range of benefits for our clients.
Drama is a fantastic tool that our therapists love to incorporate into their speech and occupational therapy sessions. Through theatre games, improv, acting out scripts and studying scenes, drama increases confidence and resilience in our clients as they learn how to ‘take up space’ and try new things in front of other people.
As a parent or carer, one of the hardest things we confront is our child being bullied, especially when they are already dealing with developmental delays or sensory processing difficulties. Bullying can mean many different things to different people and it can happen at school or at home or even online via social networks and games.
I sit and think of all the cheer, I want for those who enter this space. I want laughter, fun and storms of disgrace as they displace their fears and relate. I can’t help but natter about all the chatter that truly describes our ways. Creative? You got it! Fun, you want it. Come right into our inspirational space.
At Inspire Ability we encourage our clients to practice mindful body awareness, enabling them to recognise when they'rebecoming angry or upset and managing these emotions proactively.
